GetResponse Review: the details

Now to the part you’ve been waiting for. We’re going to review the core GetResponse features and see if they’re the right fit for you.

Getresponse Email Marketing

With GetResponse, creating your first email is simple. They've given the user experience some thought. It took me ten minutes to set up my first email, and it seemed really natural.
Create your initial email using GetResponse.
You may begin customizing your email right away after creating a free account. When you select "Design message," more than 120 email templates appear. Well done!

Email template categories on GetResponse are seven. You may "educate, promote, welcome" your clients, for instance. Let's say you find an email template you like, click "save," and it appears in the "My templates" tab for future usage.
Upon selecting a template, you begin to modify your email using the email builder.

Although the GetResponse email editor has a ton of options, it never seems overly complicated. When you need them, all of the editing choices are displayed. Thus, everything is extremely natural.
Though it's not necessary at all, die-hard HTML code enthusiasts might begin by coding it from scratch or based on an HTML design. It's helpful to know that the drag and drop template builder offers the ability to create custom HTML blocks.
Optionally drag and drop email editor
You design your email's layout and appearance in the layout area. Decide on the number of columns, the primary colors, etc. Content Blocks are edited mostly by dragging and dropping them.

You can add

  • Images, Text and Buttons
  • Video ( youtube-ish!)
  • Whitespace and margins
  • Social sharing links and
  • Custom HTML

My favorite part of the email editor is that you can save blocks and sections. I always use the same elements for headers, footers, and some text/images combos. So in my next email, I save a lot of time by re-using them.

Adding videos and images is straightforward. You can either drag and drop your image or browse from GetResponse’s free stock images (!) collection.

Simply insert the YouTube URL to see videos, and the content will be linked into the email.

This is not where the fun ends. You may include items from your online store in your emails by selecting the eCommerce option. As long as you have a connection to your online store, such as Shopify, the items are directly accessible. For that added touch, including a "recommended products" section as well.

Organizing your email for success
You write the entire email on one page. Select the appropriate email list to send it to, add a subject line, and the sender email address.

The cool thing about GetResponse email tracking is it lets you track eCommerce interactions:

Once your readers click on the links in your emails, you can monitor what they do. In addition to working with a Google Analytics connection, click tracking is compatible with a GetResponse tracking snippet.
With eCommerce tracking, you can identify the campaigns that increase sales and income. and can support the expense of your promotion.
GetResponse Automatic Email
The fundamental components of automation are GetResponse Autoresponders. The email is created in the same way as a typical newsletter, but it is set up to send automatically after a certain amount of time.

Email delivery is within your control thanks to the schedule. Upon enrollment, you have the option to send the email immediately, a few hours later, or on a certain day and time of your choosing. The days of the week that you don't want the autoresponder to go out can be unchecked. For instance, on the weekends.
The "time travel" option is my favorite aspect of this. To send the email at the recipient's local time, you enable this option.
Let's take a closer look at the features of marketing automation.

Marketing Automation Tools

GetResponse shines in marketing automation. It is one of the best SMB email marketing platforms, because of the automation workflows.

I fell in love with GetResponse marketing automation when I opened the automation menu and I saw this navigation bar.

This menu is a marketer's paradise. You can start with any of the submenus' automation templates. Since we are reviewing, I'm creating a "welcome" automation for you. Creating a customer welcome automation: I begin by selecting a pre-made automation template, and a few clicks later, I have this:

Yes, it seems rather stunning. You discover that GetResponse has completed half of the work for you when you enlarge on the automation flow. Making all the changes you desire is simple.

There are actions and conditions in the automation editor. For example, you send out an email (action) in response to a customer's purchase (condition). I'm going to send out a welcome email first. You are free to include as many emails and terms as you like.

I've set up a flow for this email campaign such that my new clients receive two emails over the course of two days. After that, I divide apart the clients who clicked on my email for my convenience. GetResponse automatically tracks all of this once the campaign begins. 😍

8.5 out of 10 for GetResponse automations: You can create your own automations, create customer profiles, and customize emails, but it takes some time to become comfortable with all the options. After that, you can create whole customer journeys.

Getresponse automation workflows

With GetResponse you can create automation workflows for:

  • Lead qualification
  • Engagement and retention
  • Post-purchase notifications
  • Abandoned cart triggers
  • Webinars and online courses
  • Sales promotion, and
  • Affiliate marketing

These are just some examples. With the pre-built automation templates, and a bit of tweaking, you can build your own automations with precision.

Funnel builder Onto the funnel builder. A funnel is another way to describe all the steps in a marketing campaign. So that includes forms, emails, sms, landing pages etc. GetResponse’s conversion funnel builder starts by asking if you want to: 1. Build your email list (or leads) 2. Sell products 3. Promote a webinar

Try a fresh lead magnet first, or select one of the 17 templates GetResponse provides. After selecting your lead magnet, you may construct your funnel.
The whole funnel construction process is directed. At every stage, you receive instructions so you don't forget anything. For example, GetResponse provides a thank-you page template and advises you not to overlook the importance of having one. Astute!

How to build a funnel for conversions
You are going to start by making a landing page for signups. Select the template, edit the text and layout, and then push the page live.
Next, you'll draft an email promoting the thank-you page. This email serves as a launchpad for your newly created funnel.

Promote your funnel through Facebook ads. Link your Facebook account to GetResponse and it works.

Obviously more emails, forms and pages can crank up your funnel to max conversion.

Finally, you get all your vital stats to monitor your campaign’s progress. Monitor signup rates, the number of contacts, page views and success rate from the conversion dashboard. (they’re making it too easy!)

With the Email Marketing plan you can create lead and lead magnet funnels. For more and the abandoned cart recovery feature, you’ll have to opt for higher plans.

I love that I can track important metrics and create a whole funnel on a single dashboard. The GetResponse funnel builder seems straightforward as a result.

The most recent addition to the platform is the website builder, GetResponse.

Using their "AI powered builder" or one of their templates, you may create a website. After you provide answers to a few questions using the AI-powered builder, GetResponse will instantly create a customized website for you.

Additional choices for creating websites are: Widgets (such as pricing tables, chat windows, and forms).

Colors and themes for websites
Including pictures and logos

In five minutes of tinkering with the builder, I was able to quickly and easily design a passable homepage.

You may alter every element on the page using the builder. Fonts, text sizes, photos, components, padding, and other customizations are all modifiable.

The website's updating and addition of pages are handled via a different menu. The headers, footers, and navigation bars are all editable. When you pick a part in the drag and drop editor, more customisation is displayed.
The landing page and email editors have the same appearance as the menus.
Webinars: These days, webinars are very popular. One of the few email marketing systems with webinar functionality is GetResponse.
It's simple to set up a webinar.
You enter the webinar's duration, date, and time after choosing your title. After that, you may decide which contact list to add your registered users to. After registrants sign up, you can set up autoresponders for them to receive immediately.

GetResponse will provide a webinar link once everything is ready to go in order to encourage people  to enroll up for your webinars.

Now you can send invites to your contact list, manage other webinars, and keep track of webinar performance.

I found the webinar tool to have good quality. It’s got interactive features which lets you keep the audience engaged. These include chat, polls, Q&A and whiteboard.

If you want to show a feature or product you can live-share your screen. If I’m looking to sell a product, I can add a call to action directly in the webinar.

People who are already using email marketing and webinars in different platforms will love the fact that GetResponse brings them both together.

You have access to the chatpod and the global settings for your event. The event is hosted inside the GetResponse app. They also have a mobile app you can use to give your webinar on the go.

Builder for Landing Pages
All options include with a free landing page builder from Getresponse. Presently, the landing page builder has 198 templates available. Though, to be really honest, I would only use the 100 most recent templates—some of the earlier ones, too seem really dated.

After picking a landing page template you may start modifying. The editing process differs from that of creating emails.
All of the drag-and-drop components, including buttons, text, photos, and video, are located in the single-column menu on the right.
Initially, I believed that I wanted labels on the icons. However, after experimenting a little, you'll quickly figure out what's what and get the necessary components.
I enjoy that the landing page builder allows you to start with A/B testing for your landing page. You may build as many variations as you like, along with forms and thank-you pages, in the upper left corner of the page.

Setting up a landing page
after you're happy with the way your page looks. Email list settings, URLs, and SEO may all be included.
My favorite portion is definitely what happens next. You configure web event monitoring and analytics for your landing pages, just as you do for your emails. To track landing pages, you can select the analytics platform of your choice. GetResponse is compatible with all of them, including Kissmetrics, Facebook Pixel, and Google Analytics.
The task is completed by the landing page builder. Of course, some software designed specifically for landing pages offers more advanced functions. GetResponse will be on par with other tools if they can add more templates and give their builder a little update.

I’d still stick with this GetResponse because you can link your landing pages to other campaigns like webinars, funnels, and automations.

Other GetResponse features that deserve a mention are:
SMS marketing, Web push notifications, Paid ads, and Livechat

So GetResponse is powerful beyond email marketing. It lets you set up complete funnels to convert visitors into customers. The story doesn’t end here though. To review an email marketing platform you have to look at customer support and pricing plans.
